In order to calculate things like recipe costs, or to leverage Dailybread’s recipe scaling feature, you’ll need to have
quality measurements added to Dailybread’s measurement system.
Default Measurements
We’ve already done some of the heavy lifting for you in terms of measurement management. You’ll find a number of
default measurements already added to your site. These measurements are commonly used in the food industry and should
cover most of your needs. They include both Metric and Imperial measurements, so you can use the system that you’re
most comfortable with.
Custom Measurements
From time to time, you may measure things in terms of units that aren’t standard measuring conventions - things like
“sheets”, “big bowls” or “sprigs”. This is most common when trying to measure the output of a given recipe. However,
to make things simpler, we strongly encourage you to utilize traditional measurements whenever possible. But, if it’s
just not possible, you can add custom measurements to Dailybread. Just
be aware that these custom measurements will be managed by you, so any calculations will need to be verified by you as
well.
